Snagged this in the Oxfam shop on Bloomsbury Street on Thursday...
Classic cover from an issue that I used to own before
my comic collection was used as wallpaper. One of my favourites. Not exactly breaking the fourth wall, but threatening to, if that makes sense. Certainly would have jumped off the newsagents shelf back in the day.
Brought back some nice memories anyway.

Result! Amusing cover. Is somebody about to get a tiny man piercing their eye?
Every time I go in that shop all they have is that bunch of X-Factors...
yay. i have that one! yeah as a tactic it could go quite wrong.
As superhero threats go, having Ant-man fired at you has to be pretty near the bottom of the list.
I'm reading some reprints of old Lee / Kirby Fantastic Four at the moment by the way. I haven't read them since I was a kid when they were probably my favourite strip. The art's great but I'm sorry to say that the true highlight is the dialogue, stuff like Reed Richards saying things like 'The only answer is to find some way to readjust his mind - to undo the effects of the wizard's devilish id machine!' or Sue Richards remembering her place and telling her husband 'Forgive me dear! I've no right to distract you in this way!'
Could be a great tactic that, firing Ant-Man into someone's eye and then having him grow - both of yopu are talented artists, draw it and I will publish it! Yay!
Tam - Reed being mean to Sue is quite a theme of those Lee/Kirby issues. He's a real tosser. N owonder she shagged Namor.
And, to be fair, I think those comics were where I first learnt things like the word 'Id' so I probably shouldn't mock...
